Our Story

The first game of the Eastside Elite Hockey League was in 2008, and included only eight teams. Over the last ten years, we’ve evolved into a league of fifteen teams that feature some the top hockey talent in the greater Detroit area, ranging from Triple A, to the ECHL, AHL, and NHL.

More than just hockey, we’ve grown into a community that brings elite athletes, businesses, friends, and family together to grow during the summer months. We’ve created sponsorship opportunities and have partnered with over twenty businesses and companies like Advocare, Jet’s Pizza, Kind, and many more.

Selling out each year since it’s inaugural event, our annual All-Star Challenge brings this entire community together for a game featuring the league’s top talent, to get to know our sponsors, and to spend time with friends and family.

Another highlight of the season is our annual Golf Shootout which brings players and sponsors together for a day away from the rink to benefit foundations specializing in areas including concussions, ALS, Autism, Special Olympics, youth hockey organizations, and scholarship opportunities.

We’re excited to continue growing in the 2019 season.

Community Events

Through the Eastside Elite All-Star Game, Eastside Elite Golf Shootout, and other events we have donated over $15,000 over the past three years.

Proceeds have benefitted causes such as Special Olympics, ALS, Autism, Stop Concussions. We have also supported the Cassie Hines Shoes Cancer Foundation. This is a foundation that provides support and guides young adults diagnosed with cancer to peer support groups, cancer camp, and encourages participation in various other programs.
