2024 ESE SUMMER LEAGUE - RULES


GAME FORMAT:

·       One 3-minute warm-up

·       Three 15-minute stop time periods

·       No ties

o    If the score is tied at the end of the regulation time, a three-man sudden-death shoot-out will commence
 

PLAYING RULES:

·       2023-2024 USA Hockey rules will be in effect

·       Non-Contact

o   The 2024 ESE Summer League is a non-contact, non-body check league. For the purpose of this rule, an illegal body check is defined as when a player makes intentional physical contact with the opponent using overt hip, shoulder, forearm or torso action. This includes physically forcing the opponent off the puck and with no effort to legally play the puck.

·       Zero Tolerance Policy

o   ESE Hockey is committed to creating a safe and fair environment for all participants. Respect for the game, the opponents, staff, and officials are a critical part of the environment that is created. All players, staff, officials, and parents/spectators are required to maintain a sportsmanlike and educational atmosphere before, during and after all 2024 ESE Summer League games.

 

POINT SYSTEM:

·       3 Points for Regulation Win

·       2 Points for Shootout Win

·       1 Point for Shootout Loss

  • 0 Points for Regulation Loss

 

PHOTO/VIDEO/SOCIAL MEDIA CONSENT:

By allowing your participant to play in the 2024 ESE Summer League, the parent/guardian officially acknowledges gives consent for photographs to be taken, consent for video to be recorded of all activities related to the 2024 ESE Summer League. ESE Hockey has the right to use all media assets collected for publicity purposes: the ESE Hockey website, brochures + flyers, news releases, and social media posts and presentations to future prospective program participants. By signing the ESE Hockey consent form at registration, you shall understand that you will receive no compensation for such uses. ESE Hockey will retain the right to have any photographs discontinued from use in any or all of ESE Hockey venues upon request, and if, at any time, you wish photograph(s) to be discontinued from any of the above, it is your programs responsibility to contact ESE Hockey to make this request.

MISCELLANEOUS:

·       ESE Hockey will not be responsible for any injury to teams and/or team members and/or supporters.

·       ESE Hockey will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items.

·       Locker rooms and all areas of the arena and property are to be left in spotless condition. Failure to abide by this can result in dismissal of the 2024 ESE Summer League. If an individual sees an area in poor condition, please bring it to the attention of ESE Hockey promptly.

·       2024 ESE Summer League players and ESE Hockey staff ONLY are allowed on the bench and in locker room areas. Parents are not permitted in the locker room area or on the team bench at any time.

·       A refund for the 2024 ESE Summer League for any reason, is solely at the sole discretion of ESE Hockey. There is no refund guarantee for any circumstances.

BEST INTEREST OF THE 2024 ESE SUMMER LEAGUE:

ESE Hockey reserves the right to add, amend or remove any ESE Hockey procedure, policy, rule or regulation, including, but not limited to, playing rules, eligibility rules, game format, to select or permit qualified individuals to participate in the 2024 ESE Summer League or to align or change teams, in any particular skill level at any time, if it is deemed in the best interest of the 2024 ESE Summer League. All decisions of ESE Hockey are final.

PRO DIVISION | MICHIGAN| Est. 2008

The league that started it all! ESE Hockey’s Pro Division is the flagship of ESE Hockey. Comprised of professional (NHL, AHL, ECHL, Europe) and college (NCAA) players near and surrounding the Metro Detroit area, ESE Hockey’s Pro Division is the premier summer league of North America! Heading into its fifth-tenth season, ESE Hockey continues to grow the ESE Summer League by creating a highly competitive atmosphere among the highly talented players that are dedicated to improving their game during the summer months.

PRO DIVISION | TORONTO | EST. 2019

Debuted in 2019, ESE Hockey’s Pro Division in Toronto brings together professional (NHL, AHL, ECHL), college (CIS), and junior (USHL, Major Junior) players from the Greater Toronto area.

ElITE DIVISION | Est. 2015

ESE Hockey’s Elite Division is comprised of junior (Major Junior, USHL, NAHL, NCDC, USPHL) and U18-U15 AAA hockey players. While being non-contact, the Elite Division provides a strong emphasis on increasing skill development, creating effective habits, improving game-like decision making at game-like speed in a highly dynamic environment. The Elite Division also provides opportunities for players to interact, learn from, and compete with other players who share similar goals of reaching the next level!

HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION | Est. 2015

ESE Hockey’s High School Division is comprised of the elite high school hockey players. Similar to ESE Hockey’s Elite Division, the High School Division is non-contact and provides a strong emphasis on increasing skill development, creating effective habits, and improving game-like decision making at game-like speed in a highly dynamic environment. The High School Division also provides opportunities for players to interact, learn from, and compete with other players who share similar goals of reaching the next level!

WOMEN’S DIVISION | Est. 2014

The Women’s Division is comprised of the elite youth, college, and professional women hockey players. The Women’s Division provides a strong emphasis on increasing skill development, creating effective habits, and improving game-like decision making at game-like speed in a highly dynamic environment. The Women’s Division also provides opportunities for players to interact, learn from, and compete with other players who share similar goals of reaching the next level!

YOUNG ELITES| Est. 2023

The Young Elites Division is comprised of the elite youth, college, and professional women hockey players. The Women’s Division provides a strong emphasis on increasing skill development, creating effective habits, and improving game-like decision making at game-like speed in a highly dynamic environment. The Women’s Division also provides opportunities for players to interact, learn from, and compete with other players who share similar goals of reaching the next level!
